The U-17 Girls Hockey Team of Army Public School Janglot Kathua, has brought laurels to the school by emerging as the State-Level Nehru Cup Champions.
The team began its impressive journey by winning the District-Level Championship and went on to represent Kathua at the State-Level Nehru Cup Championship held at Khel Gaon, Nagrota, Jammu.
Teams from Jammu, Rajouri, Pulwama, Kathua, Baramulla and Poonch participated in the championship.
Displaying remarkable skill, discipline, teamwork and determination, the Kathua team entered the final and defeated Jammu District 3–1 to clinch the State-Level title.
With this remarkable victory, the team has qualified for the 32nd Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament at Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi. For the first time, the entire team comprises students of Army Public School Janglot, making this achievement even more significant as they prepare to represent the school at the national level.
Chairman Brig. Tejender Choudhary conveyed his best wishes to the young champions and appreciated their outstanding achievement. Principal Dr. Vishakha Sharma also congratulated the team and the coach, commending their dedication, perseverance and sporting spirit.
