MLA Basohli holds Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Mahanpur; assures timely relief and development works


Basohli, September 13: MLA Basohli Darshan Singh today organized a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Rest House, Public Works Department, Mahanpur to take stock of the problems being faced by the locals after the recent rains and floods and to find speedy solutions.
In this camp, the citizens placed before the MLA their demands and grievances related to electricity, drinking water, pension, housing under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, road connectivity and damage to roads, houses, crops and agricultural land due to heavy rains.

MLA Darshan Singh while addressing reiterated his commitment to solve the problems of the people and directed the officers of the concerned departments to solve their problems on priority basis. He directed the officers of Public Works Department, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to expedite the repair of damaged roads, erect safety walls at vulnerable places and restore traffic as soon as possible.  He directed the Block Development Officer to ensure protective measures in the villages where houses and agricultural land are at risk due to landslides.
The MLA directed the Tehsildar, Agriculture Department officers, HDO, PWD and PMGSY officers besides AEE Jal Shakti Department and BDO to prepare a detailed report of the damage caused by the recent natural calamity and submit it to the higher authorities so that the affected families can be provided timely relief as per the prescribed norms. He also directed the concerned officers to ensure quality in the implementation of the ongoing development works.

On the occasion, the relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by the concerned departments were also reviewed. The MLA assured the public that he is with them in this hour of crisis and all possible help will be provided. The MLA informed that Rs 50 lakh has been deposited by the district administration under SDRF in the accounts of many citizens affected by the natural calamity as relief amount.
Later, delegations from various areas of Mahanpur block met the MLA and submitted a memorandum of demands.  The MLA listened to their problems carefully and assured appropriate action for their solution.

During the camp, DDC Member Mahanpur Tejendra Singh Goldy, Tehsildar Radhika Sohan, BDO Mahanpur Moti Lal, AEE Jal Shakti Department Yogesh Sharma, HDO Sanjeev Singh, Range Officer Forest Department Mahanpur Bhupendra Singh, JEO Tilakraj Andotra, JE PMGSY Hem Raj, TSO Hansraj, JE Dharmesh Vikas of Electricity Department Transmission, JE Sarwar Malik of Electricity Department Maintenance, ZMO Prince Anit Singh, besides officials of other concerned departments, former Sarpanch, eminent citizens and a large number of people were present
